Biography
An American national, Luke Sampson began his career in the United States, where he was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2011, and to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 2012.
Luke worked as an attorney at the law firm of Bovarnick & Associates, LLC, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, specializing in business and commercial law, where he advised his clients on business formation, growth, restructuring and governance. Luke also represented clients in business, commercial, and corporate bankruptcy litigation.
After moving to France in 2016, Luke became the Legal Director of a French biotech TxCell, SA, acquired by the American biotech, Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc: within TxCell, he created a legal structure, which (upon becoming the subsidiary of Sangamo Therapeutics), supported the activities in Europe and in the U.S. In this capacity, he ensured global legal support to the company, notably research and development activities, clinical trials, pharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP), partnerships and collaborations, licensing and technology transfer agreements, and regulatory support. Luke also worked to implement internal company policies (code of ethics, compliance with transparency laws, contract management, employee training and awareness in legal principles affecting the company’s activities (such as confidentiality, ICH, loi Sapin, loi Bertrand…).
